The Chief Minister appealed to citizens to refrain from imposing bandhs and to pursue democratic channels for expressing grievances.
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh addressed the state’s residents, urging them not to call for or support bandhs that disrupt daily life. He emphasized that such shutdowns cause inconvenience to ordinary people, hinder essential services, and affect the economy.
The CM pointed out that democratic institutions provide ample avenues for voicing concerns, including public hearings, petitions, and peaceful rallies. He appealed to political parties, civil society groups and ordinary citizens to channel their demands through these constitutional mechanisms.
By calling for a democratic path, Singh reiterated his government’s commitment to dialogue and problem‑solving, and warned that repeated bandhs could erode public trust in the democratic process.
