The Chief Minister of Manipur told reporters that his recent discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi focused on accelerating peace initiatives in the troubled state.

Manipur's Chief Minister, after a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said the dialogue was centred on speeding up peace efforts in the conflict‑prone state. He emphasized that both leaders share a common resolve to bring lasting stability to the region.

The meeting comes amid ongoing unrest in Manipur, where ethnic tensions have resulted in periodic violence and displacement over the past months. Security forces have been deployed, and the central government has been monitoring the situation closely.

The CM outlined a set of immediate steps, including intensified security coordination, accelerated development projects, and renewed community engagement programmes aimed at rebuilding trust among rival groups. He urged local leaders to cooperate fully with the central authorities.

In concluding remarks, the Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to peace, stating that the partnership with the Prime Minister's office would translate into concrete actions on the ground to restore normalcy for the people of Manipur.
