Manipur CM Calls for Centre’s Help as Home Minister Schedules Visit

Manipur’s chief minister formally sought additional support from the Union government, citing the need for greater assistance to address pressing challenges in the state. The appeal was made during a recent press interaction, where the CM emphasized that collaborative effort from the centre is essential for effective governance.
The Union Home Minister responded by confirming plans to travel to Manipur in the near future. The visit is expected to include discussions with state officials on security, development and coordination of central schemes.
Both leaders indicated that the upcoming meeting aims to strengthen centre‑state relations and accelerate the implementation of pending projects. The scheduled visit underscores the central government's intent to engage directly with Manipur’s administration.
Stakeholders anticipate that the dialogue will result in concrete measures, though specific details of the assistance were not disclosed at the time of the statements.
