Manipur's chief minister toured L. Champhai village to assess a water pipeline that suffered damage, prompting an on‑site inspection.

Manipur Chief Minister (CM) made an on‑site visit to L. Champhai village on Tuesday to examine a water pipeline that has been reported as damaged. The inspection was carried out after local residents raised concerns about disrupted water supply and visible cracks along the conduit.

During the visit, the CM met with village officials and engineers to understand the extent of the breakage and to discuss immediate remedial measures. Preliminary observations indicated that the pipeline may have been affected by recent heavy rains, although a detailed technical assessment is pending.

The chief minister assured villagers that the state government will expedite repairs and allocate necessary resources to restore normal water flow. He also directed the Public Works Department to submit a comprehensive report on the cause of the damage and a timeline for completion of the restoration work.

Local authorities have been instructed to keep the community informed of progress and to coordinate with health officials to mitigate any potential water‑borne health risks arising from the interruption.
