Man Smashes Gate with Rented Thar in Bhopal’s Fortune Heritage Colony After Girlfriend Row

A young man in Bhopal’s Fortune Heritage Colony broke the colony gate and collided with more than six cars using a rented Tata Thar after a quarrel with his girlfriend, prompting police to register a case and start CCTV‑based investigation.
Bhopal police received a complaint that a young man, identified only as a resident of Fortune Heritage Colony, caused a disturbance on the colony premises on Saturday evening. According to the report, the individual had a heated argument with his girlfriend and, in a fit of anger, drove a rented Tata Thar into the colony gate, breaking it open.
After breaching the gate, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck at least six parked cars, causing significant damage to the vehicles and the surrounding area. Witnesses said the Thar was moving at high speed and that the scene turned chaotic within minutes.
Local police filed a First Information Report (FIR) based on the complaint and have begun a probe using CCTV footage from the colony’s surveillance system. The investigation aims to identify the driver, ascertain the motive behind the reckless act, and determine any further legal action under the Indian Penal Code.
