Laddi Khan was fatally shot when gunmen opened fire on his moving car in Ludhiana, while his companion Manpreet Singh escaped unharmed after the vehicle crashed into a pole. Police say an old rivalry may be behind the attack.
A moving car in Ludhiana was ambushed by gunmen who opened fire, killing the driver, Laddi Khan. The vehicle, carrying Khan and his friend Manpreet Singh, was hit multiple times before it veered off the road and collided with a roadside pole.
Manpreet Singh managed to flee the scene without injury, while Khan succumbed to his gunshot wounds at the spot. The police recovered the damaged car and collected ballistic evidence from the crash site.
Investigators have linked the attack to a long‑standing personal rivalry, though no arrests have been announced. The motive remains under scrutiny as detectives interview witnesses and trace the firearms used.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, emphasizing that such targeted violence is rare in the city but will be pursued rigorously.
