Man detained at Gayaji Junction with ₹10.03 lakh cash, handed to Income Tax officials

A joint RPF‑GRP team at Gayaji Junction seized over ten lakh rupees in cash from a man who could not produce any supporting documents and transferred him to the Income Tax Department.
During a routine Operation Satark, a combined team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Gujarat Railway Police (GRP) conducted a search at Gayaji Junction in Bihar. The operation resulted in the detention of a male individual who was found carrying a substantial amount of cash.
Inspectors recovered approximately ₹10.03 lakh in cash from the suspect's bag. When questioned, the man was unable to present any legitimate paperwork or explanation linking the money to a lawful source.
Given the absence of supporting documents, the authorities transferred the detainee to officials of the Income Tax Department for further investigation. The department is expected to examine the source of the funds and decide on any legal action.
Police officials stated that the seizure was part of ongoing efforts to curb cash-based illicit activities and that similar operations will continue across the state.
