Man Attempts to Attack Police with Knife During Vehicle Check in Koodankulam, Tirunelveli
Police arrested 22-year-old Vigneshwar after he brandished a large knife and threatened to behead himself during a routine vehicle check on Koodankulam Radhapuram road. Officers subdued him and seized the weapon and his motorcycle.
Police in Tirunelveli district were conducting a vehicle check on the Koodankulam Radhapuram road when they stopped a suspicious motorcyclist. The rider was identified as Vigneshwar, 22, son of Rayar, a resident of Koodankulam.
During the check, officers attempted to examine a sickle found on the motorcycle. This provoked Vigneshwar, who retrieved a large knife from the bike, wrapped it around his head and warned the police that if they tried to arrest him he would cut his head into pieces and throw it at them.
Acting swiftly, the police overpowered the suspect, arrested him and confiscated both the knife and the motorcycle.
Authorities confirmed that Vigneshwar is in custody and the seized items have been taken for further investigation.
