Police in Udaipur arrested a man who tried to obtain bail in a cheque‑bounce case using counterfeit Aadhaar and a forged bike registration certificate, and sent him to jail.
In Udaipur, law‑enforcement officials detained a suspect who appeared before the district court seeking bail in a cheque‑bounce case. The individual presented a fabricated Aadhaar card and a counterfeit bike registration certificate as proof of identity and residence.
Investigators discovered that the documents were forged after a routine verification at the court premises. The fake Aadhaar contained altered personal details, while the bike RC was a photocopied version with tampered registration numbers.
Police seized multiple counterfeit papers from the accused and immediately placed him in judicial custody. The man was transferred to the Udaipur jail pending further legal proceedings.
Authorities have warned that presenting forged documents to a court is a serious offence and may attract additional charges under the Indian Penal Code, alongside the original cheque‑bounce allegations.
