Man Arrested in Bijnor for Exceeding Allowed Azaan Volume from Mosque Loudspeaker

Police in Bijnor arrested a resident after a complaint that the mosque’s loudspeaker was being used to broadcast the azaan at a volume higher than the level permitted by local regulations. The incident was reported to the district police, who arrived at the mosque and measured the sound level, confirming it exceeded the prescribed limit.

Under Uttar Pradesh’s noise control guidelines, religious institutions are required to keep the volume of public announcements within a specified decibel range to prevent disturbance to nearby residents. Officers warned the mosque authorities and ordered the individual responsible to cease the excessive amplification.

The detained man was taken into custody for violating the noise ordinance. He may face a fine or further legal action depending on the outcome of the investigation.
