Police officials in Imphal West district said they have taken into custody a man accused of firing at Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel during a routine deployment. The suspect was apprehended after a brief chase in the vicinity of a government building, according to a statement released by the district police headquarters.
According to the police, the alleged shooter opened fire on a CRPF convoy that was conducting a security patrol in the area. No CRPF personnel were reported injured, and the weapon used was recovered at the scene. The incident prompted an immediate lockdown of nearby streets while investigators secured the site.
