TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has accused the central BJP government of creating a restive atmosphere in West Bengal and blamed Election Commission chief Gyanesh Kumar for the party's defeat in recent polls.

Mamata Banerjee, chief minister of West Bengal and leader of the Trinamool Congress, made the accusations during a press conference on Tuesday, alleging that the central BJP government is fostering a restive atmosphere in the state.

She singled out Election Commission chief Gyanesh Kumar, claiming that his actions contributed to the TMC’s poor performance in the recent state assembly elections.

According to Mamata, BJP policies and political activities have heightened tensions among voters, and the Election Commission’s decisions have not been impartial.

The TMC has denied any wrongdoing and called the accusations politically motivated, while the BJP has yet to respond to the claims.
