The Economic Times released its weekly roundup of Malayalam content arriving on over‑the‑top (OTT) services for the period 19 October to 25 October. The list captures a mix of genres, from drama to thriller, reflecting the growing appetite for regional streaming in India.
Among the highlighted titles, "Dhoomakethu" opens the slate, offering a contemporary narrative that blends romance with social commentary. "The Paradise" follows, presenting a visually rich story set against coastal backdrops, aimed at both domestic viewers and the diaspora.
These films are slated to appear on major platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar, expanding the Malayalam catalogue available to subscribers. Industry analysts note that the steady flow of new releases strengthens the regional segment’s competitiveness against Hindi‑language offerings.
The weekly selection underscores the sustained investment by OTT players in Malayalam productions, a trend that has accelerated since the pandemic and is expected to continue as creators explore diverse storytelling formats.
