Maharashtra police have submitted a chargesheet claiming that answer sheets for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) were smuggled by being tucked inside the insoles of shoes. The document states that the concealed papers were offered to candidates for a sum of ₹8,000 each.
According to the filing, the scheme involved modifying ordinary shoe insoles to create a hidden compartment where the exam papers could be placed without detection. The operation was reportedly uncovered during a routine inspection of a batch of shoes seized from a suspect’s possession.
Investigators say they are tracing the network that facilitated the sale, including the source of the shoes and the individuals who distributed the answer sheets. The police have warned that anyone found participating in the illegal distribution of TET papers will face strict penal action under the state's anti-corruption and examination fraud statutes.
