Maharashtra's minister for the SGNP scheme, Ganesh Naik, conducted a field review of the ongoing rehabilitation process on Wednesday. The inspection focused on how the programme is handling the resettlement and livelihood support for families affected by the project.
According to officials, 8,850 residents who meet the eligibility criteria have now submitted the required documents for inclusion in the rehabilitation plan. The submissions cover land‑ownership proofs, income statements and other verification papers needed to finalize entitlements.
The minister said the volume of applications reflects strong community interest and urged the administration to expedite verification so that benefits can be delivered without delay. The review is part of a broader effort to ensure transparency and timely implementation of the SGNP initiative.
State authorities will now process the documents, allocate rehabilitation parcels and monitor the progress of the scheme in the coming weeks, aiming to meet the targets set for the fiscal year.
