Temperatures in Amravati climbed to 35.6°C while Nagpur's air‑quality index worsened, as a warm, dry spell continues across Maharashtra.

A warm, dry spell is persisting across Maharashtra, pushing temperatures higher in several districts. In the eastern city of Amravati, the mercury reached 35.6 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest point recorded in the state today. Meanwhile, the capital region of Nagpur reported a deteriorating air‑quality index, indicating a rise in pollutants and reduced visibility.

Meteorological officials attribute the heat to a stable high‑pressure system that is limiting cloud formation and rainfall. The same system is also contributing to stagnant air over Nagpur, which hampers the dispersion of pollutants and leads to poorer air quality.

Authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and use masks or air purifiers where possible to mitigate the impact of the worsening air quality.
