The Maharashtra Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has permanently revoked the licences of ten Ayurvedic drug manufacturers after a comprehensive audit uncovered multiple violations.
The decision, announced on Monday, follows findings of substandard manufacturing practices, improper labeling and failure to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
The affected companies, which supplied a range of herbal medicines across the state, will no longer be able to market or distribute their products.
The FDA has urged other Ayurvedic firms to review their compliance measures to avoid similar sanctions.
