The Madhya Pradesh state administration has unveiled a new financial aid scheme that will credit each of the 5.8 million school‑going children with ₹600. The amount is intended to offset the cost of school uniforms, a recurring expense that can deter attendance among low‑income families.
The transfers will be made through the existing Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) platform, ensuring that funds reach beneficiaries directly in their bank accounts.
