The Madhya Pradesh government has set a goal to register 20 lakh rural properties by 15 November as part of its land‑record modernization drive.
The Madhya Pradesh administration announced on Monday that it will complete the registration of 20 lakh rural land parcels by 15 November. The initiative is a key component of the state’s ongoing effort to modernise land records and improve transparency in property ownership.
State officials said the drive will be coordinated through district land revenue offices, with the help of digital platforms that allow owners to submit documents online. Field officers will conduct verification visits in villages to ensure accuracy of the data.
The government expects the massive registration exercise to reduce disputes over land, facilitate easier access to credit for farmers, and streamline the delivery of government schemes linked to land ownership.
To meet the deadline, the administration has allocated additional resources, including training for local officials and a public awareness campaign to encourage landholders to register their properties promptly.
If successful, the target will mark one of the largest rural land‑registration efforts in the country, setting a benchmark for other states pursuing similar reforms.
