Madhya Pradesh targets 50 GW clean energy, pledges aviation, tech expansion – CM Yadav

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that Madhya Pradesh will strive to achieve 50 gigawatts of clean energy capacity and will also focus on expanding its aviation and technology sectors.
At the Economic Times World Leadership Forum 2026, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav outlined an ambitious energy roadmap for the state. He said the government aims to install 50 gigawatts of clean power generation capacity within the next decade, positioning the state among India's leading renewable energy hubs.
Yadav emphasized that the target will be met through a mix of solar, wind and emerging green hydrogen projects, with a focus on attracting private investment and leveraging central government schemes.
In addition to the energy push, the CM announced plans to develop a robust aviation ecosystem, including the expansion of regional airports and the promotion of aerospace manufacturing. Parallelly, the state will launch initiatives to nurture technology startups and create a dedicated tech corridor.
The combined strategy is expected to generate thousands of jobs, reduce carbon emissions, and boost Madhya Pradesh's contribution to India's climate commitments. Officials said detailed project proposals and funding mechanisms will be released in the coming weeks.
