The state government has launched a digital health system aimed at improving access to primary care in remote areas of Madhya Pradesh.
The Madhya Pradesh government has officially deployed a new digital health platform designed to strengthen primary‑care delivery in the state’s most remote villages. The initiative, announced by the health department, seeks to bridge gaps in service availability by leveraging electronic health records, tele‑consultations and mobile‑based appointment scheduling.
Under the system, health workers at sub‑centres will be equipped with tablets to record patient information in real time, allowing doctors at district hospitals to access histories instantly. Telemedicine modules enable specialists to consult patients via video link, reducing the need for travel to urban centres.
Implementation will begin with a pilot covering several districts, followed by a phased rollout across all rural blocks. Training programmes for frontline staff are already underway, and the state has partnered with technology firms experienced in health‑IT solutions to ensure smooth integration.
