Police officials conducting a raid in the Dudhwa Phalia locality of Alirajpur district seized two cannabis fields containing a total of 2,070 plants. The seized material weighed 2,079 kilograms, and authorities have estimated its market value at close to one crore rupees.
The operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals who are now facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigators have begun a forensic examination of the confiscated plants to confirm potency and to trace the supply chain.
State police spokesperson said the seizure underscores a heightened focus on curbing illicit drug cultivation in Madhya Pradesh, and that further actions will be taken against any networks involved in the trade.
