Patwaris in Madhya Pradesh have refused to end their protest against the Swamitva Yojana, stating that collectors have not yet revoked the suspension and dismissal orders issued against them. The agitation continues as employees demand reinstatement and withdrawal of punitive measures.
The protest by Madhya Pradesh Patwaris over the implementation of the Swamitva Yojana has entered its second week. Employees say that despite their demands, the district collectors have not withdrawn the suspension and dismissal orders that were served on them earlier this month. They argue that the orders were issued without proper inquiry and are affecting their livelihoods.
Patwaris, who are responsible for land record maintenance, claim that the Swamitva Yojana rollout has created confusion and extra workload, prompting their agitation. They have been holding peaceful demonstrations at various tehsil offices across the state, urging the administration to reconsider the punitive actions.
Officials from the revenue department have stated that the matter is under review and that a decision on the orders will be taken after examining the employees' grievances. Until then, the Patwaris have vowed to continue their protest until the suspension and dismissal notices are formally revoked.
