A resident of Madhya Pradesh has been taken into custody for allegedly forging a letter purportedly signed by the state’s chief minister to facilitate the transfer of an AYUSH doctor.

A man from Madhya Pradesh was arrested after police said he had fabricated a letter that appeared to be signed by the state chief minister. The forged document was allegedly used to request the transfer of an AYUSH doctor to a different posting.

AYUSH doctors are practitioners of traditional Indian systems of medicine, and their transfers are normally processed through official channels. The investigation suggests the letter was created to bypass those procedures.

Authorities have opened a criminal case, stating that forging an official letter is a punishable offense under Indian law. The suspect remains in custody while the probe continues to determine the full extent of the fraud.
