The Madhya Pradesh government has released a notification outlining new regulations for coaching centres, including mandatory safety measures to protect students.

The state government of Madhya Pradesh has formally notified a set of rules governing the operation of private coaching centres. The notification, issued by the state's education department, aims to standardise the functioning of these institutions which cater to large numbers of students preparing for competitive exams.
Key provisions require coaching centres to obtain prior approval, maintain prescribed student‑to‑teacher ratios, ensure fire‑safety compliance, and provide adequate sanitation facilities. Centres must also display safety certificates and conduct regular drills.
The move comes in response to concerns over overcrowding and safety lapses in some centres. The education department has said non‑compliant institutions will face penalties, including suspension of licences.
