The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) of Madhya Pradesh has issued a notice suspending the NEET PG 2026 counselling, delaying seat allocation for postgraduate medical courses.

The Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Medical Education (DME) released a formal notice this week indicating that the counselling phase for the 2026 NEET PG admissions has been put on hold. The decision halts the scheduled allocation of postgraduate medical seats across the state’s government and private medical colleges.

NEET PG counselling is the final step after the national entrance exam, where qualified candidates are allotted seats based on merit and preferences. By suspending the process, thousands of aspirants who cleared the exam are left in uncertainty regarding their training placements for the upcoming academic year.

DME officials said the suspension is pending a review of administrative and regulatory issues that have surfaced. They have assured candidates that a revised timetable will be communicated once the concerns are resolved, and that no application fees will be refunded.

The notice has prompted queries from medical colleges and student bodies, who are seeking clarification on the expected duration of the delay and any impact on the start date of postgraduate courses.
