Chief Minister Yadav has unveiled plans to transform Orchha into a leading religious tourism destination, aiming to boost local economy and preserve heritage sites.
Orchha, a historic town in Madhya Pradesh, is renowned for its ancient temples, palaces and scenic riverfronts. In a recent announcement, Chief Minister Yadav declared that the state will develop Orchha into a major religious tourism hub, with a focus on preserving its cultural heritage.
The plan includes upgrading infrastructure such as roads, signage and public amenities, while also promoting the town’s temples and heritage sites to attract pilgrims and tourists. Yadav said the initiative would be rolled out over the next few years, with phased development and community involvement.
Officials expect the project to create new jobs in hospitality, transportation and local crafts, thereby stimulating the regional economy. The government also aims to improve visitor experience through better information centers and guided tours.
Next steps involve detailed feasibility studies, securing funding, and collaborating with heritage conservation bodies to ensure that development is sustainable and respectful of Orchha’s historic character.
