Chief Minister Yadav said the state will launch a scheme to grant legal title deeds to owners of rural properties, aiming to secure tenure and boost farmer credit.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Yadav announced that the state government will introduce a programme to provide legal ownership titles to holders of rural properties. The initiative is intended to resolve long‑standing ambiguities in land records and give farmers a clear, enforceable right over their land.

By issuing formal title deeds, the government hopes to strengthen security of tenure and enable farmers to access institutional credit more easily. The revenue department will oversee verification of occupancy, existing documentation and the issuance of certificates.

State officials said the scheme will be funded from the current budget and is in line with the central government's broader land‑reform agenda. Implementation is slated to begin in the upcoming fiscal year, with priority given to small and marginal farmers.

The announcement was made during a press briefing in the state capital, where Yadav emphasized that clear land ownership is essential for agricultural productivity and rural development.
