The Madhya Pradesh government will hold a direct dialogue with more than 20,000 young people in Bhopal, focusing on jobs, startups and emerging technologies, as a response to the Congress' ‘Students' Goonj’ program.

The state administration of Madhya Pradesh announced that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over a Youth Conclave in Bhopal, gathering more than 20,000 participants. The event is positioned as a direct engagement with the state's young population, addressing concerns about employment, entrepreneurship and the adoption of new technologies.

Organisers said the conclave will feature panel discussions, interactive sessions and showcases of startup initiatives, aiming to provide practical insights and networking opportunities for attendees. Government officials will field questions from the audience, signalling a willingness to incorporate youth perspectives into policy formulation.

The move comes shortly after the opposition Congress party staged its ‘Students' Goonj’ campaign, which highlighted issues faced by students and recent graduates. By convening the large‑scale dialogue, the ruling party seeks to demonstrate responsiveness to the same demographic while reinforcing its development agenda.

Security and logistical arrangements have been scaled up to manage the expected crowd, with local authorities coordinating crowd control, medical aid and transportation. The conclave is scheduled for later today, and officials anticipate that the discussions will feed into upcoming state initiatives on skill development and job creation.
