The Madhya Pradesh government has credited ₹1,835 crore to the bank accounts of more than 12.5 million women as the 40th installment of the Ladli Bahna welfare scheme.
The state government announced that a fresh tranche of ₹1,835 crore has been transferred to beneficiaries of the Ladli Bahna scheme, marking its 40th installment. The disbursement reaches over 12.5 million women across Madhya Pradesh, with funds deposited directly into their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer system. Launched to empower women from economically weaker sections, the Ladli Bahna scheme provides regular financial assistance to support education, health and livelihood needs. Officials said the electronic transfer ensures speed, transparency and reduces leakages. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also appealed to citizens to light diyas at home on the occasion, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s birthday, as a sign of national unity.
