CM Mohan Yadav said that the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in Madhya Pradesh soon, aiming to reinforce equality, during the Tiranga Yatra.
During the Tiranga Yatra, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state will soon implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), a long‑standing proposal aimed at replacing personal laws based on religion.
Yadav said the government is preparing the necessary legal framework and will roll out the code in the next few months, after consultations with legal experts and community leaders.
He added that the UCC would promote equality among citizens by ensuring that all citizens are governed by the same civil laws, irrespective of religion or community.
The announcement marks a significant step in Madhya Pradesh's efforts to modernise its legal system, though it follows a broader national debate on the UCC.
