The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh announced decisive steps after a Katni civil service probationer, Neha Pachisia, was accused of pressuring transporters and withholding ₹92 million in a land‑registry scam.
Katni district officials have lodged serious complaints against Neha Pachisia, a civil service probationer, alleging that she coerced transporters into registering a land transaction and subsequently failed to remit the agreed payment of roughly ₹92 million. The accusations suggest a deliberate scheme to extract money from the transport community while manipulating official land‑registry procedures.
In response, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh publicly stated that the allegations would be investigated thoroughly and that appropriate administrative action would be taken against any official found culpable. The CM directed senior officers of the state’s Home Department and the Anti‑Corruption Bureau to coordinate their inquiries and report findings within a stipulated timeframe.
The state government has also ordered a freeze on any pending transactions linked to the accused officer until the probe concludes. If the investigation confirms the fraud, disciplinary measures could include suspension, removal from service, and possible legal prosecution under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
