The probe centers around allegations of inflated prices for essential goods and services procured by these municipal corporations. Reports indicate discrepancies in pricing for items such as disinfectant, which reportedly cost ₹5 per unit, and LED bulbs, which were allegedly purchased for ₹11,800 each. The Lokayukta's office is currently reviewing documents and conducting interviews to ascertain the validity of these claims and determine if any wrongdoing occurred.
