The Madhya Pradesh cabinet gave the green light to schemes worth ₹42,490 crore, covering education, transport, horticulture, three major irrigation projects and new mineral offices in upcoming districts.

Madhya Pradesh’s cabinet met on Tuesday and approved a package of development schemes totaling ₹42,490 crore. The allocation spans multiple sectors, with significant funding earmarked for schools, colleges, road upgrades, and horticultural initiatives.

Among the approved projects are three large‑scale irrigation schemes aimed at boosting water availability for agriculture in drought‑prone regions. The cabinet also sanctioned the creation of mineral department offices in newly formed districts to streamline resource management.

The decision reflects the state government’s push to accelerate infrastructure and livelihood projects ahead of the upcoming fiscal year. Officials said the funds will be released in phases, subject to standard audit and monitoring procedures.

Stakeholders, including teachers’ unions and farmer groups, have been briefed on the implementation timeline. The cabinet emphasized that the schemes are designed to generate employment and improve public services across the state.

The approval comes as part of a broader effort to meet Madhya Pradesh’s growth targets and address long‑standing gaps in education, transport connectivity, and water security.
