Citizens of Ludhiana have urged authorities to investigate erroneous photographs appearing in the electoral roll.
Ludhiana residents and local civic groups have formally requested a thorough investigation into photographs that appear to be incorrect on the city’s voter list. The demand was raised after several voters reported that the images printed alongside their names did not match their actual appearance.
The discrepancy has raised concerns about the reliability of the electoral roll, especially as it could affect identity verification during polling. Voters fear that mismatched photos might lead to confusion or potential misuse of the list in upcoming elections.
In response, officials from the Punjab State Election Commission acknowledged the complaints and said a verification process will be initiated. They assured the public that corrective measures will be taken to update the erroneous entries and prevent similar issues in the future.
The call for a probe underscores growing public scrutiny of electoral documentation and highlights the need for accuracy in voter records ahead of the next electoral cycle.
