Ludhiana-Jakhal Passenger Train Extended to Jind, Boosting Connectivity

The Punjab State Railway has announced that the Ludhiana–Jakhal passenger service will be extended to Jind, effective from the upcoming timetable revision. The new route will cover the 120‑kilometre stretch between Jakhal and Jind, adding two additional stops at Jind Junction and a minor halt at Hansi.\nThe extension is expected to reduce travel time for commuters by eliminating the need for a change of trains at Jakhal. According to railway officials, the service will run twice daily, maintaining the current frequency between Ludhiana and Jakhal.\nPassengers will benefit from a seamless journey across three major towns, with improved connectivity for both daily commuters and occasional travelers. The railway department has assured that the rolling stock and crew allocation will be adjusted to accommodate the longer route without affecting punctuality.
