A family from Lucknow unintentionally left their child at a dhaba in Himachal Pradesh and continued driving for about 80 km before realizing the mistake.

A family travelling from Lucknow stopped at a roadside dhaba in Himachal Pradesh, where they inadvertently left their young child unattended. After the brief halt, the adults got back into their vehicle and drove away, unaware that the child was still inside the dhaba premises.

It was only after covering roughly 80 kilometres that the family realized the child was missing. The realization prompted an immediate return to the dhaba and a call for assistance from local authorities.

Police and dhaba staff coordinated a quick search, locating the child unharmed at the eatery. The incident was reported to the district police, who have opened an inquiry to determine how the oversight occurred and to prevent similar lapses in the future.

Child‑safety experts have reiterated the importance of double‑checking passengers before departing any stop, especially on long road trips. The episode serves as a stark reminder for travelers to adopt strict check‑lists to avoid endangering vulnerable passengers.
