The India Meteorological Department warns that a low-pressure system moving into the region will boost the ongoing monsoon, bringing additional rain to Delhi and its surrounding areas.

Delhi and the National Capital Region are expected to receive more rain over the coming days as a low-pressure system settles over the area, according to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The system is projected to enhance the existing monsoon trough, leading to intermittent showers and occasional moderate downpours across the city and its suburbs.

Meteorologists said the increased moisture content in the atmosphere will likely result in cloudy skies and reduced visibility during the early morning and evening periods. Residents are advised to stay prepared for sudden bursts of rain, especially in low-lying localities that are prone to waterlogging.

The IMD has not issued any severe weather warnings at this stage, but it recommends that commuters exercise caution while traveling and that authorities keep drainage systems clear to mitigate potential disruptions.

The monsoon, which entered the Indian subcontinent in early June, has already delivered substantial rainfall to several parts of the country. This additional system is expected to sustain the overall monsoon spell, supporting agricultural activities while also testing urban infrastructure in Delhi.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and will update the public should the intensity of the rain increase or if any weather alerts are issued.
