A Louisiana woman's lawsuit against her uncle for allegedly mismanaging her late mother's estate has been revived by an appeals court after 23 years. The court ruled in favor of some of her claims but dismissed others.
A Louisiana woman's long-standing legal battle over her late mother's estate has taken a new turn. An appeals court has revived some of her claims against her uncle, who she accused of transferring interests in nearly 300 acres of land to himself and businesses linked to him. The woman's mother passed away over 23 years ago, and the dispute has been ongoing since then. The appeals court ruled in favor of some of the woman's claims concerning her uncle's handling of the estate, but it upheld the dismissal of other claims. A previous $10,000 damages award was also cancelled, and the case has been sent back for further proceedings.
