The Bhopal Lokayukta has opened an inquiry into Head Constable driver Firuz Khan of the Indore Police Training College, scrutinising his declared wealth of Rs 65 crore across 46 immovable properties and the involvement of his wife, acquaintances and senior officials.

The Lokayukta of Madhya Pradesh, based in Bhopal, has commenced a formal investigation into Head Constable driver Firuz Khan, who is posted at the Indore Police Training College. The probe centers on Khan's declaration of assets amounting to approximately Rs 65 crore, spread over 46 immovable properties located in and around Indore.

Investigators are examining how such extensive holdings were accumulated, with particular focus on the role played by Khan's wife and a network of acquaintances who may have facilitated the acquisition of the properties. The enquiry also extends to senior police officials who are alleged to have been in close contact with Khan during the period of asset accumulation.

In addition to tracing the source of funds, the Lokayukta team is probing alleged irregularities in stamp duty payments linked to the transactions. Officials from the Lokayukta office have indicated that any violation of stamp duty norms will be treated as a separate offence under state law.

The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the Bhopal Lokayukta, and findings will be reported to the state government for further action, including possible disciplinary measures against any police personnel found complicit.
