LG Sinha highlighted that establishing global capability centres is crucial for accelerating industrial development in Jammu & Kashmir over the coming ten years.

LG Sinha, a senior official involved in Jammu & Kashmir's economic planning, said that global capability centres (GCCs) are essential for the region's industrial expansion over the next decade. He noted that GCCs can bring multinational firms into the valley, generate high‑skill employment and link local suppliers to global value chains.

Speaking at a recent industry forum, Sinha outlined the need for a coordinated strategy that combines policy incentives, infrastructure upgrades and skill development programmes to attract GCCs. He stressed that the state government is ready to offer fiscal benefits and streamlined approvals to firms that set up such centres.

If the plan materialises, the influx of GCCs could diversify Jammu & Kashmir's economic base, moving it beyond traditional sectors and contributing to broader national growth objectives.
