Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that advanced medical facilities must be extended to the smaller districts of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the need for equitable healthcare access.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated that the state’s health infrastructure must move beyond the major urban centres and reach the smaller, often remote districts of Jammu and Kashmir. In a recent statement, he stressed that residents of these areas deserve the same level of advanced medical care available in larger towns.
He pointed out that many specialised treatments currently require patients to travel long distances, creating financial and logistical burdens for families. By bringing tertiary‑level facilities closer to home, the government can reduce delays in diagnosis and improve overall health outcomes.
Sinha urged the health department to draft a concrete plan for setting up satellite clinics, tele‑medicine hubs and upgraded district hospitals. He indicated that the administration will coordinate with central health schemes to mobilise resources and expertise for this purpose.
