Leopard attacks three villagers in Umarda Kheda, Udaipur

A leopard struck three residents of Umarda Kheda village in Udaipur on Wednesday morning, injuring them and prompting their transfer to MB Hospital; the same animal had attacked another villager the previous day.
On Wednesday morning, a leopard entered the hamlet of Umarda Kheda in Udaipur district and attacked three villagers. The animal’s sudden appearance caused panic, and the three men sustained injuries ranging from minor cuts to more serious wounds.
Local authorities were alerted immediately, and the injured were rushed to the nearby MB Hospital for medical treatment. Hospital staff reported that all three patients are receiving care and their conditions are being monitored.
The incident follows a similar leopard attack reported just a day earlier, when a single villager was injured in the same region. Wildlife officials have been notified and are expected to conduct a search for the animal to prevent further incidents.
Residents of the village expressed concern over the recurring wildlife encounters and have urged the forest department to increase patrols in the area.
The situation remains under close watch by both health and wildlife authorities as they coordinate response and safety measures.
