The Karnataka government has expedited land acquisition for the Peripheral Ring Road project aimed at easing Bangalore traffic, with preparations under way for new bypass roads.

The Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project, intended to reduce traffic congestion in Bangalore, has entered an accelerated land acquisition phase. Authorities have stepped up the process of acquiring land required for the new bypass roads that will form part of the PRR network. Preparations are now underway to commence construction of these bypass routes, which are expected to divert traffic away from the city centre. The move is part of a broader effort by the state to improve urban mobility and reduce travel times for commuters. Officials anticipate that the completed ring road will provide a faster alternative for vehicles travelling around the city, thereby easing pressure on existing arterial roads.
