Thousands of devotees from across Maharashtra gathered in Pandharpur today as the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage reached its climax on Ekadashi, marking the end of the month‑long journey.
Today, the historic town of Pandharpur witnessed a massive gathering of lakhs of Warkaris, devotees of Lord Vithoba, as the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage reached its conclusion on Ekadashi.
The Ashadhi Wari, which begins on the first day of the Hindu month of Ashadha, sees thousands of pilgrims traveling from across Maharashtra and neighboring states, walking along a 12‑kilometre route to reach the Vithoba temple.
At the culmination, devotees performed the traditional "Ekadashi Puja", offered prayers, and participated in a large procession that passed the main temple complex. Police and local authorities had deployed crowd control measures, including traffic diversions and medical stations, to ensure safety.
