Kyle Mills Says Coaching India’s Cricket Team Is a Tough Job

Former New Zealand pacer Kyle Mills, now a respected bowling consultant, shared his view with The Times of India that the role of head coach for the Indian cricket side is far from easy. He highlighted the intense pressure that comes with steering a team that consistently ranks among the world’s best.

Mills noted that the expectations of a massive fan base, relentless media scrutiny and the responsibility of managing a pool of world‑class talent make the job uniquely demanding. The Indian side’s frequent participation in high‑stakes tournaments adds another layer of complexity for any coach.

While acknowledging the prestige of the position, Mills cautioned that success requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to navigate cultural nuances and maintain player morale under constant public attention.
