The first phase of the 2026 urban local body elections saw a robust voter participation in the Kotputli‑Bharod district, with an overall turnout of 84.84% across five municipal bodies. Kotputli Nagar Parishad posted a particularly high turnout of 85.29%, placing it among the top performing councils in the district.
Narayanpur led the district with the highest turnout at 86.97%, but Kotputli’s figures were closely comparable, reflecting strong voter engagement in the region’s local governance.
A total of 428 candidates are contesting seats in Kotputli, and their fortunes now rest with the electronic voting machines (EVMs). Election officials reported that accusations of fraudulent voting triggered disturbances at several polling booths, leading to temporary unrest before order was restored.
