Five suspects were arrested in Kota for running a cyber‑fraud operation that lured victims through a fake call centre, using techniques learned from Bengaluru.
Kota police uncovered a cyber‑fraud ring that had set up a call centre to defraud unsuspecting victims. The mastermind of the operation had reportedly learned the techniques in Bengaluru before establishing the centre in Kota.
The scheme targeted people by posing as investment advisors. Young women were used to make calls and convince potential victims to invest in non‑existent schemes, thereby siphoning money from them.
Following a coordinated raid, five individuals were arrested. Police officials said the investigation is ongoing and that further arrests may be made as more evidence comes to light.
