A major godown shed collapse in Taratala, Kolkata, has resulted in three fatalities and the rescue of 21 individuals. Rescue operations are ongoing with multiple agencies involved, as an estimated 12-18 people remain trapped.
A tragic incident unfolded in Kolkata's Taratala area where a godown shed collapsed, leading to fatalities and trapping several individuals. As of the latest reports, three people have lost their lives in the collapse.
Emergency services, including the NDRF, Army, SDRF, Police, and Fire Department, are engaged in extensive rescue operations at the site. So far, 21 people have been successfully rescued from the debris. Medical assistance is being provided, with SSKM Hospital involved in treating the rescued.
Authorities estimate that between 12 to 18 individuals may still be trapped within the collapsed structure. The Indian Army has been in contact with those believed to be inside. State Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited the location to oversee the rescue efforts.
