Union Home Minister Kiren Rijiju said that achieving lasting peace in Manipur depends on community dialogue rather than military intervention.
Union Home Minister Kiren Rijiju, speaking at a press briefing, emphasized that the long‑standing unrest in Manipur can only be resolved through dialogue among the state's diverse communities.
Rijiju noted that the government’s security operations have not yielded a lasting solution and that sustained peace requires inclusive conversations that address the root causes of the conflict.
The minister urged local leaders, civil society groups and the armed groups to engage in a structured dialogue process, highlighting the need for mutual trust and shared accountability.
He added that the central government will support facilitation efforts and that a comprehensive peace plan will be drafted once a consensus is reached among all stakeholders.
